FAQ

Liberty Safes offers a Duplicate Key/Combination request on their website.  They have a form that can be sent in to request a key or combination for your specific safe.  They also have a toll free customer service line to assist with any questions. We can also replace the lock on your Liberty Safe or any other safe.

Yes, the safe’s combination can be changed.  Safes that include an electronic lock will have instructions on how to change the combination in the users’ manual.  Safes that include a mechanical dial will need to be changed with the help of a locksmith or local dealer.

Because fire will compromise the fire insulation of your safe, you will need to replace a safe that has been in contact with fire.  If your safe comes into contact with fire, you should remove the items from the safe and discontinue storing anything inside it.

Because the safe is not waterproof, you will need to replace a safe that has been in contact with water.  If your safe comes into contact with water, you should remove the items from the safe and discontinue storing anything inside it.

Safes and the belongings held inside them should be insured through an insurance company.  They do not come with an insurance policy. However, a Liberty safe does come with a lifetime warranty that is transferrable.

Liberty Safes offers warranty repairs to their products as long as proper protocol is followed.  They require you to contact a Customer Service Representative for authorization to repair the safe.  The Liberty Safe website details the process and provides contact information to their customer service line.

The key-lock is there to keep the dial from turning.  The dial combination can be locked in an open or in a scrambled position.  First, set the dial to “0”, then insert the key and turn it half a turn in a counterclockwise motion. The safe will then be locked.  To unlock the safe, turn the key half a turn in a clockwise motion, remove the key, and redial the combination or turn the dial back to the opening position.

No, not all of the electronic locks offered are EMP resistant.  If you are looking for a safe with EMP resistant locks, try the S&G Low Profile and D-Drive Electronic Locks on Liberty Safes.
